I will try to contribute instead of cause a problem this time.

I am located in the NE part of Jackson County - Hurley

I have an active frequency that appears to be George County Dispatch and/or SO opereations. 156.2100.

I am still trying to locate the frequencies for MS HWP. I have several but no traffic. One that seems active but appears to be data only. 866.0125

Thanks for any help

If you have say a PRO-97 or the like, then load the 156.2175 and itll pick up nicely... What type of scanner are you running?

Also, on MHP, unless you have a huge antenna on a tower, most likely all youll hear is dispatch.... Untill the MWIN 700 gets set up.

You should have no trouble at all with that narrowband freq GCSO is using, but youll still only here MHP mobiles that are close to you, and the mobile extenders in the cars, if they are close to ya,... But dispatch should be clear as a bell.

Hello. Your 156.21 is a close match to the 156.2175 here at RR's database for George County:
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=1416

Here at RR there is a listing for the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol (MHP):
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=762

I tried locking out 156.21 and replaced it with 156.1275. Listening and logging for serveral hours I never got a hit. I unlocked the 156.21 and pickup a lot of hits both for George County Sheriff and also the Gulf Shores, Al Police department or may be the Baldwin County Sheriff Department as I have also copied dispatches to Daphnee Al as well.

I am picking up the HWP now. I added the fixed Repeater frequencies listed in another message. One that is supposed to be for this area, 453.0000 has a lot of traffic but its for the Crew/Supply boats serviceing the offshore rigs and Chevron.

Thanks for your help

That Chevron Bullcrap is NEW! I've started noticing them talk on 453.0000 starting back about 2 months ago. Before that the only people I ever heard on it was Biloxi (Troop K dispatch). But it wasn't very often. I hear the units on 458.0000 all of the time when driving down I-10.

Hmmm possibly a slight offset freq that our scanners get on 453.0???? Possibility of actual freq on sayyy 452.9875?? or in that range?? Is it showing a PL/DPL????

I'm using a Yaesu FT-8900R Transceiver to pick it up, and it has to be on frequency because I'm hearing them from Biloxi, and they're 29 miles away from me in Pascagoula. So if they were on anything other than 453.0000 mHz I wouldn't hear it.

Unknown on the PL, I didn't scan for one. I have 453.0000 and 458.0000 loaded in my radio and scan both, and noticed traffic that wasn't MHP on 453.0000 a couple of months ago. I identified it as being in or near the Chevron Refinery. Also I believe it's a repeater, it sounds like a repeater. But if they were on say 452.9875 I don't think I'd hear it from 30 miles away mobile. My transceiver is too selective.
