All,

We have a nice catalog of Georgia's DNR frequencies here: GA Department of Natural Resources Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

According to recent posts on ScanAtlanta and my own monitoring, however, DNR is moving to digital (P-25 specifically).

Post your findings here and we will update the database. I am curious to see how the NACs map...

Jay, no wonder I've not heard the DNR here at Lake Lanier (159.600)! Just got a hit on NAC 151. Very similar to their old CTCSS of 151.4. Going to leave the 197 in search mode to see what else is going on.
NAC 088 for DNR Allatoona (159.945) just now.

will the old analog frequencies be useful to keep in the scanner as back up or should i throw them out?

BTW yall! a friend of mine gave me an extremely nice scanner i think its a gsr or which ever one does tdma as he had no use for it as he just got a apx7000 (lucky SOB) so he gave the scanner to me so no more hearing from me asking about motorola stuff. the only thing you will hear from me is how to set this thing up or some sort of tech question(s). i have fell in love with this thing is frickin sweet!! still learning how to use it actually.

For now, keep the analog ones. Not every area is digital yet. I run both for federal agency scanning, too.

Is it a black scanner with squared off edges??? If so, it's a GRE PSR-800 scanner. I have one and can help you with the setup. Programming software is free and the programming cable is a mini-USB common in older phones, GPS receivers, etc. PM me or email at kg4ojj AT arrl DOT net

Update: Statewide 160.200/ NAC 293, encrypted. Will listen to see if they broadcast in the clear.
Lots of activity on the 159.600 repeater, NAC 151 due to the snow event from yesterday.

Is that 159.6 worth going through the trouble of programming my radio for on a normal non snow day? How active is it and is there anything interesting going on?

Not as much action today, but last night there were a couple of DNR units in Cobb. One of the units called in a DL and found out it was a missing person. The tag matched the description of the vehicle, and a PD unit met up with DNR and the missing girl. No longer missing.
Just never know what you're going to hear.
More action on the USACoE main TGID on the Hall system. Dam Rd is still iced up.

Two tower sites, Gainesville (Hwy 53 at the district office) and Amicalola Falls State park.
More than likely, the Gainesville site.
