If you have an ICOM scanning reciever this thing kicks butt.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ICOM RADIO

You can get a comma delimited file that includes the License, freq, mode and step. It also contains stuff you will probably not use but it is free and usable.

I plan using it to load freqs in my 2006 to see what is active and then based on that decide what is worth keeping and wht need getting rid of

No, it is not the ideal way.
Yes, it is somewhat complete.

If you have an ICOM radio follow the instructions by choosing your radio.

For those of you who do not have an ICOM radio do this...

Go here > http://www.perconcorp.com/icom/

Choose your data type

Choose your search parameters

Enter your radio (ENTER PCR1000)

The PCR is limited in the number of channels you can program so you may want to break your request in to groups if you are choosing a range based data choice

It will be a text file and you can view or download it.

Do it soon because they may turn it off at anytime as it is supported by ICOM.

If you have an ICOM radio follow the instructions by choosing your radio.

Nope.... and since I don't there may be others that don't.

I did a search on this site of [percon, free] and it came up with nothing.

Besides that what does it hurt to tell everyone again.

OR DO YOU FEEL BETTER SAYING WTTYBL

(Welcome to the year before last)

Have you been using it for your non-ICOM radios?

Others may think it is not usable.

Anyway... :)

Well to tell you the truth I find it usless even for the ICOMS. If I need any freqs I come right here to the RR database. About the only time I use it is if Im looking for some odd ball freq but even then I usually go to the FCC site. According to percon we dont even have any police or sheriffs freq where I live  If it works for you and you like it then thats cool 8)

Like I said I plan on using it as a search platform. Load all the usable freqs in a radio and then scan. It shortens the search process.

Not all licensed freqs are used and not all used freqs are worth saving. I thought of it as being a good tool to use to find new freqs of interest.

I wrote a script for the HB232 a few years ago that locks out any active freq. It would run for a set period of time. Usually I would run it over a 24 hour period.

The reason it locked them out is to not waste time scanning and increase the chances of finding active worthwile freqs.

So as a means of loading my scanner for daily use I agree with you the data from this site is not grand. But as a tool, I think it would save alot of time and cultivate some new voices.

We've been mentioning this 'trick' on our website for a long time.

We used to read the Icom R3 format files into our Uniden software but they did not like it and closed R3 downloads, but they didn't realize the pcr100/1000 files are plain text/csv files... just rename them to .txt or .csv and excel will help you...

But the RR database is by far a much better source.

Attention: R3 Users. This service has been temporarily suspended as a result of a non-authorized software company pirating the memory files from the IC-R3. Please check back for additional details. ICOM.

I was wondering who the culprit was/is. That is why I said it could be down at any time

Again, I do not advocate using percon site as a reference. I expect others to use it as a means to do radio scanning searches. The data is poor but it does give enough information that I can go to my real reference for Arizona found at the bottom of this post. :)

I think that when you give it way for free you can't call it pirated. I would guess that is why they didn't mention any names :)

I see a lawsuit... Gommert?

Are they calling you guys pirateers?

I wonder if Perry gets paid by the download on that site and he knows all about the comma delimited files but he is waiting for ICOM to speak and complain
