Soon switching over to encryption. Equipment all in place, dispatch/cars/portables- just finishing off some testing. My guess is within a month or so, but no firm date announced. Existing freq/use to be kept as backup/reserve.

I think SJPD just switched over. All their radio channels are quiet. The county will be using the same encryption code....

Gilroy PD streaming is back up, having been down all week. Suspected it might have been the channel switch to the new encryption, but maybe it was merely offline and the owner plugged the power cord back in. Working fine for now.

Kept as a spare/event channel, the main is P25.
Gotcha. Do you know if Morgan Hill kept their legacy channel?

I do not, all the guys I knew there are now retired.
No worries. Also do you know if Gilroy is keeping all of their frequencies, or just primary?

Nope, I do not know. With no Garlic Fest this year, the only other "big" event they have is the car show on Monterey Rd- but its low key, older attendees, no booze, I've never seen any cops "working" it- they just come to eat, check out the women and see the cool stuff- all in the interest of public safety of course. ;-)
Edit- not sure if its still on, but here's the page. Its a cool deal, lots of nice old/new restored cars come.
