M’s Weekly FCC Grants Reports

It may be an involved operation to set up here at RR.
It's up to Lindsay to determine if this would be a feasible and functional tool and if it is somewhat easy to put together, to extrapolate the necessary information from raw FCC data on a weekly basis. Perhaps as a function under Display Last 100 FCC Grants in XX County XX state link in the DB? Or an entirely new one.

Jerry Smith has been doing "Illinois Grants" for many years. He recently included FCC information upon my request. He's been posting the link each week on the CARMA Chicago io.group mentioning updates ( carma@groups.io ).

We are grateful to Glenn for what he's been able to do in the past, and currently to Jerry for his efforts all along!

Jerry's URL is: Radio Grant Pages for the Midwest...midwestgrants.com - Jerry is currently compiling info for the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa, Kentucky, & Arizona.

Glenn Mitchell's Grants / Midwest Grant Page requests

Good Morning, All-

As some of you may have heard Glenn Mitchell has discontinued his processing of the weekly FCC license grants.

I commend Glenn for his 14 years of work. It truly is a labor of love and dedication to download the data, process it for each state and then upload them each week. Glenn's FCC License grants covered all 50 states and the DC area! We both had links to our respective web pages and we have corresponded on occasion when we had a problem with the data or one of us missed a download for a date from the previous week. The loss of his efforts will be felt by all who visited his site.

Since 1999 the Midwest Grant Pages' primary focus is Illinois and the surrounding states providing data from the Private Land Mobile Radio Service of the FCC. The primary motivation for the site was to 'give back' to the members of the Chicago Area Radio Monitoring Association (CARMA) who have graciously shared their knowledge with me.

During the past week there have been numerous requests to include additional states on the Midwest Grant Pages website. After careful consideration it has been determined that additional states will not be added at this time.

Thanks.

Jerry Smith

Thanks to Lindsay for adding it.

On the Downloads and Reports tab for States in the US - there is now a report available for the last 250 FCC license grants in that State.

Is the Last 250 FCC License Grants pulling any new data yet? Last thing listed is 12 2018. I was doing by county (on my counties page) and also the same thing. I know there was a shut down but figured they would have processed something by now. Maybe I am just impatient. Going on coffee number two now

RR must be slow getting FCC data or something. FCC started issuing licenses again around 1/28.
