Hey Y'all,

Any thoughts on taking my BC296D and RS Pro 83 to Lithuania??

I will have a month of evenings in the hotel trying to entertain myself and I was thinking that just searching (and signal stalking) might be interesting. What do you think?

Regards, John

I had ro go to Radio Shack to get Euro electric adaptors and while there I also picked up a cheap (and tiny) Grundig (Etonic) Mini 300 PE with some "short wave" bands so I will do a little checking with that too. Who knows??

If I get anything interesting, I will post here. I know what you may be thinking - and your right cannot speak the language - but I will try to log activity.

Cheers, John.

I didn't find too much. The refinery was using 463 and 464 MHz for security and maintenance. Interestingly, there were MANY telephones on what in the USA would have been UHF police frequencies. Searching police UHF frequencies showed MANY control frequencies (noisy tones) with lots of telephone conversations around them - in Lithuanian ans so I understood nothing.

Many service searched returned NO hits. Nothing on marine or railroad frequencies and only a little on the air frequencies.
