Is anyone else having issues with Google being down? Their search page times out as well as a LOT of other pages.

Yahoo is working as well as this site, but a good portion of other sites are down as well.

Ummm, Google wasn't down. What you experienced most likely was a routing or DNS issue that was causing a slowdown on the network path, or complete failure to translate the name. Google is run in a round-robin fashion that should a server fail another is there to take over immediately.

None of my computers here worked at all on Google, but Yahoo worked fine. All is well now.

Well, it's happening again today. This time a lot more sites are involved. It slows down just about every site that I'm trying to visit.

Most sites are timing out and some take a good minute or so before they load.

Spybot and AdAware turn up nothing. There is nothing running in the background of the computers verified by Task Manager and Active Ports.

Any ideas?

flush your DNS. Your ISP may have changed DNS servers. If so, you may need to reboot your cable/dsl modem.

One other thing that comes to mind... what are you using for a DNS server? Your ISP's DNS server, or a third party DNS such as OpenDNS or GoogleDNS?

I was using OpenDNS and was getting a lot of time outs and misdirects, such as clicking on a RR forum message and being taken to and eBay page. It was quite frustrating at times to follow threads. I dropped OpenDNS and tried out GoogleDNS and haven't had any issues since then.

Just using the ISP's DNS Server. I guess I'll reboot the modem. I just came home for lunch and everything is back to normal though.

This is becoming very frustrating.
