Hello everyone well this is pretty cool im starting too find stuff loke police emt other unknown transmissions it is quite a bit of fun scanning.

now im not sure how too enter a specific frequency in gqrx i mean i know i can go too the freq bar in the upper left and put in the numbers but im not getting it right. so many digits 000.000.000

id like too find active freqs in lower bucks cnty Pa. so i have a freq of 155.55000 ,
or 160.2000 is it 015.555.000 or say 79.04375 would be 007.904.375 ?

or a good one is a local ema @507.38750 i dont know how too put that in properly.

oh does gqrx scan a frequency range repeatedky like a dedicated scanner radio?

sorry for all the questions but i want too learn this and get the local stuff ..

oh im using a rtl-sdr dongle if that helps

Check out SDR#. After installing it, you can get either the Frequency Manager Suite (Windows) or Frequency Manager (Linux & Windows)...

SDR#... http://airspy.com/?ddownload=3130
Frequency Manager Suite... https://onedrive.live.com/download?...1091&authkey=!ALpjO4lZReAD2v0&ithint=file,zip
Frequency Manager... http://rtl-sdr.ru/uploads/download/freqmen.zip

SDR# is nice in that it runs from a folder. You can copy the folder multiple times for different things. Maybe have one for Aircraft, another for Shortware, etc.

For frequencies, look at Radio Reference's Database...
