Lectron is Uniden's Canadian repair centre.
I've dealt many times with them on repair issues and have never had a problem.

I can certainly recommend Lectron for sending radios in for repairs, they are honest and quick with turnaround. However I had a GRE600 and was not happy with the performance. Went back to using my BCD996.
Ordered the PSR600 .. Monday December 22 .. 9:00 AM .. from their website.
Delivered by UPS to my office in Kitchener .. 2:30 PM .. Tuesday, December 23.

wrex were you able to select UPS? Did you have a choice? The site said they used DHL
I didn't select UPS. They did.
Also .. the scanner is a PSR-600 C. I guess that the "C" designates Canada.

Glad to see you were happy with your service, normally Peterborough to anywhere in populated areas of Quebec and Ontario using regular service will always be next day even with UPS. Their cost to them is peanuts, probably not even 15 bucks without any value discount.

I understand that you have 2 GRE scanners now 500/600 . Are you happy with them ? Are they as good as the R/S PRO 96 and Bearcat are at PROJECT 25 performance ?

Since acquiring the PSR500 I have not used the Pro96 or the BCD396T.
I find the PSR500 to be better in everyway. I have not tried the PSR600 yet .. it is
wrapped now and under the tree. I track the OPP Apco25 systm with no problems .. digital reception
is exceptional. Also rail, marine and aircraft. Local Kitchener EDACS system is loud and clear.

I picked up a Pro-106 a few months ago (Radio Shack's version of the PSR-500) to replace my Pro-96. I would agree with the comments by wrex... the 106/500 is an outstanding radio. Digital audio quality is definitely as good, if not better than my Pro-96 and the added features (Signal Stalker, LTR, I-Calls, 16 character LCD etc etc) make it a solid recommendation to anyone looking for a digital scanner. I originally intended on selling my Pro-96 after getting up to speed with the 106, but I've found having both radios to be quite handy. I have to admit that I prefer Uniden's memory management (with Quick Keys and such for toggling systems, and being able to assign Quick Keys within a system for further flexibility). GRE's limit of 20 scan lists (22 if you count Favourites and Skywarn) can be used up pretty quickly. A pretty small issue in the big picture of things though. I also haven't had many issues with intermod or front end overload on the 106 considering how sensitive it is. Again, I would put the intermod issues about on par with my Pro-96.
