Go see this story on KUTV's Web site.

Can someone explain to me how vandals can create such artistic graffiti on the overhead signs well above freeway traffic, and NOT HAVE ANYONE NOTICE THEM? From the looks of the graffiti, whoever did this had to have been on the catwalks of those signs for a very long time. Not only is this dangerous for the artist, it could create a terrible traffic accident because the signs are unreadable.

Okay, it was done at night, but just because it is night has the traffic been routed off of the freeway? According to the story, this happens twenty times or more EVERY MONTH!

This really befuddles me - which probably does not surprise some people who know me.

Special tips on the spray cans provide custom paint streams that make it go really quick.

That combined with a late night hit and people not wanting to get involved...

Okay, I can agree that there is this common sissy attitude that most people do not want to get involved, but tell me, how do these guys get on the catwalks? There is no climbing steps on the sign's uprights...that I can remember seeing. Road crews use a "cherry picker" to access the catwalks. I don't think a vandal is going to go to that extreme.

It all just...just...IT IS UNBELIVABLE!

Of course, this might be some "right of passage" amongst some tagger's subculture, but still...

Even with special tips, the size and artistic rendition shown in the video would make me think that it took him/them at least 30 - 45 minutes. That is a lot of freeway traffic even in the middle of the night. Are there really that many people that don't want to get involved?
