With all the new (and in RS case, re-issued) scanners from RS and Whistler out there, I suspect there's a good bit of confusion between the various models and whether there's a third party programming package for it. If you take a look at the Software section of
Programming Your GRE Scanner - The RadioReference Wiki
You will find a handy cross reference that will help.
It should be noted that with the exception of the PSR-800 line (Pro-668, WS-1080 and including the newer Whistler models), just about everything above that line has a third party software solution for programming.
As mentioned many times elsewhere, Whistler has refused to publish the protocols for the various PSR-800 type radios, and uses a proprietary package (called EZ-Scan) instead. This means no third party solutions can be developed for these radios. I kinda doubt this is going to change anytime soon.
