Currently, I am hearing VHF, UHF, and 800 MHz signals from up to 500 kilometers (325 miles) away, and even well into Canada towards Toronto. Currently, I have a very strange data channel for a possible TRS 153.495 MHz. Does anyone have a clue as to who they are?

I've been picking up a whack of stuff today from all over the place. One odd system in particular is a Moto control channel on 855.2375. Trunker shows the SysID as 0A28, and the only entry for 0A28 in the database is a system in Florida. I didn't think Motorola used the same SysID for multiple systems? (With the exception of networked systems of course). I'm assuming this system is somewhere in the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio area since that's where my yagi is pointed. I'm also picking up the Emergency Radio Service TRS from Kokomo Indiana this afternoon. According to Streets and Trips, thats a good 470km from my location. Wow!

System 0A28 is located in Wayne County Michigan.

Huge traffic on Waterford's 154.38500 from some place called Seven Hills and Berryville(?). I could not even hear Waterford over the booming crystal clear stuff coming from somewhere. I haven't had much luck finding out anything as there are a million Seven Hills. I thought I head a station identify as kzz448 and another as kvl7 something, but those don't return anything. There is police and fire on this system. I'll keep digging..

Edit: Duh the search function works pretty well here. I found out it is in Ohio by Cleveland 154.38500 159.31500 KDP448 RM 110.9 PL 1 Seven Hills Dispatch FM . Makes sense as they use the same PL as Waterford. At least I got the 448 right :p

Here is a real mystery. I am receiving Chicago Fire's "Englewood Dispatch," on 159.090 MHz, just like they are next door to me. However, I always thought that Englewood was on 153.770 MHz? Nonetheless, I am hearing both sides of the conversation like they are right in the room with me. How is this possible? Based on what I am hearing, it doesn't sound like they are going through another repeater.

I have been hearing Rockford, and downstate into the Champaign, Effingham areas. I recognized a lot of the ISP traffic on VHF-High band. Gotta love ISPERN on 155.475, hearing them here is a good indication of an intense band-opening.

Awesome. Sounds like a blast. I turned up ISPERN on the console at work, but all I heard was District 9 (Springfield).

Last night, I talked on the 146.850 repeater in Van Wert using 10 watts from my ground based vertical. I made contacts from Rochester, NY to all over Pennsylvania, Ohio, & Michigan and it was just like I was sitting on a local repeater. I was on several repeaters and we couldn't figure them all out.

I don't know if this is concidered "far", but the furthest I have heard is St. Clair County Sheriff on 460.35... it's sad that most public safety around my area are going to digital systems. Say good by to public safety skip.:( I am southwest of Toledo by the way. I got them with a PRO96 with a rubber ducky. However I have CM200 in my car and I heard Stearling Heights PD which my scanner wouldn't even break for.

Yes 460.350 is St. Clair County..

Also I'm still getting Norwalk PD in Ohio on 460.450 as well as a Lansing area PD in Mi.

Still pulling CHP in on the 39 and 42 bands.
