Here are the basics for mixing conventional and trunked.
- Only one trunk type per bank (you cant mix MOT and EDACS for example)
- Set the bank to the type of trunked system; conventional work anyway
- Set the mode of each frequency accordingly (trunked to MO,ED,LT,etc) conventional to AM,FM,DC,CT.
is there anyway you can tell me how to make sure they are all enabled?
When you are at the MAIN DISPLAY in SCAN mode the scanner displays the enabled banks. To toggle a bank on and off, press its number (0 to 9).
i did what it said, hit [trunck] trunk made sure it is on motorola II and put in the talk group, and hit scan, it shows all my 154. etc type frequencies scanning but wont show the trunked ones scanning? it says the banks are on.
Trunked channels are called TalkGroups (TGs). They are not scanned. The only thing the scanner will scan is the control channel frequency. You'll see a T (reversed color) on the top line of the display briefly when the control channel is being scanned. If one of your programmed TGs is being used, the scanne will automatically switch to that voice channel (assuming you've programmed it all correctly for the system type/etc).
