The Great Smokey Mountians National Park is now using APCO-25 as well as analog modualtion for operations. TN page has been updated,.. and NC info has been submitted.

Gsmnp p25

I was at the GSMRR Railfest in September and there was almost non stop action on the GSMNP P25. It was great !

I'm pretty sure that they were talking about the Great Smoky Mountain Park and not the railway.

Did the RR go p25 as well?

No ,just the park. I was in town for the Railfest at Great Smokey Mountains Railroad(GSMRR) and was monitoring the GSMNP as well. The railroad is VHF for the Locomotive and train crews,but the car host are on UHF.

Ok cool, I thought I had missed something at some point. My wife and i go every couple of years to ride the train and I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed them going P25.

170.1000 is not FM but is APCO-25

no its not 4c5, and I dont have a digi scanner so I cant get it, but I tried the 4c5 in my EFJ5100 its showing active but I get nothing and it shows active on analog but can pick nothing up.
