I am new to the area and would like to get involved with listening to Local Police, Fire, and Beach transmissions for the safety of my family.
I am retired and we moved here just about 5 months ago. I enjoyed using the 5-0 Police scanner on my IPod but want to move on with a radio and some guidance in purchase and use with the end product getting my HAM radio license.
If there are folks in the area that have a club or meet for coffee or can communicate with me I would be very appreciative.
