I've been watching the 938.775 MHz freq. added to the RR DB here recently listed (per TAFL) as Milton District Hospital (MDH). There are in fact 2nd and 3rd frequencies also in the TAFL that I don't see here on RR yet, those being 938.7625 and 938.7875, both shown as licensed to the Oakville Hospital (OTMH).

I haven't submitted those to the RR database as the operation of these frequencies isn't what one might expect. 938.7625 and 938.775 are 100% simulcast. From my location, .775 is about 12dB stronger than .7625 using SDR#'s spectrum display as the reference. 938.7875 is completely silent.

As for usage, it's been difficult to identify which location I'm hearing traffic from until I heard a call for a racoon on the first floor parking garage. That has to be OTMH as MDH doesn't have a multi-level parking garage that I've ever noticed since it's recent expansion. I haven't been so lucky in hearing anything that would positively identify anything related to MDH yet. Maybe one T/S is Oakville and the other Milton, I'll have to pay closer attention going forward.

Longer-term I'm thinking this might turn into a 3-frequency (or more) DMR multi-site system someday, and there's no ruling out JBH in Burlingtoin being added to the mix in the future as it's part of Halton Healthcare too, time will tell.

Cheers!

Sounds like linked Capacity Plus. What part is unexpected?

From my location, .775 is about 12dB stronger than .7625 using SDR#'s spectrum display as the reference.
I would think that between licensing, distance/terrain between you and the sites, and worst case, a drive by, you'd have minimal difficulty resolving locations.

Maybe one T/S is Oakville and the other Milton, I'll have to pay closer attention going forward.
Now it sounds like you're describing a conventional system. Trunking systems don't dedicate channels or slots to specific users - that's the whole point of trunking. Now I'm confused...

So am I. The talk is too generic to get a location, "gift shop", "parking garage", "the morgue", "code blue", definitely hospital-speak but no clues as to which one. My money is on OTMH exclusively at this point. Radio IDs are limited (16, maybe 17 total seen), just 2 groups, 100 and 101 dedicated to slots 0 and 1 (or 1 and 2 if you must) respectively but simulcast on both frequencies. As for drive-by checks, I'll let someone who cares to do that go right ahead.

Looking at the inputs I see nothing on either frequency. I'm not 2km line of site - literally - from MDH so I doubt anything is originating from there.

Back when OTMH was first listed in the DB, I remember trying to listening to them from the dog park just a few blocks down the road and I couldn't hear it from there. I believe I had to be almost right up near the building to even get a control channel for it.

Transmissions on 938.7625, although parallel in audio content, T/G & radio IDs with 938.775, show CC11 versus CC12 on the higher frequency. i just switched frequencies today to compare results and that became immediately obvious.
