Ham Radio in Antlers, OK

Hey guys,
I have a friend in Antlers, OK in Pushmataha County that wants to test & get his ham license, however I am not seeing anything that isn't 4+ hours away... Surely there are some ham clubs in his area that test somewhere in a town close to him??!? Anyone please let me know. ARRL website wasn't that helpful. Thanks in advance.

He might try W5CUQ the Pittsburg County club out of McAlester, that would be the closest organization I can think of. Maybe someone there can point him in the right direction.

Check the Laurel VEC and W5YI VEC websites. ARRL is not the only VEC and not the best either. There are other VEC's out there too. I don't know all of them. Some are offering remote testing.
