Hi. I am hoping that hams and those who monitor them could help me here.

I have been looking at lists of repeaters in and around the Toronto area and the Greater Hamilton area. In an earlier post on this subject I was given websites, listing all the repeaters however there looks to be at least 100 repeaters in the area I request & I doubt that all of those are active.

If there are any hams that can provide me with a list of active ones I'd appreciate it. With the home patrol scanner it isnt easy to just go out and search them out and my other scanner is dedicated for Trunk 88.

Thanks

Eric

Bryce and W8.

I dont think I explained my query clearly. I am not looking to buy a book and I am aware that there are websites with all the repeaters listed but I am simply asking to those who are hams and those who listen what repeaters are active and which repeaters I should load into my scanner?

If I went by the lists on line I see that there are numerous repeaters listed in the GTA, probably 100 of them. Of these, which ones are active?

BTW Bryce, where in Burlington are ya?

VE3RSB 440 (444.825) usually has a lot of traffic during the day
VE3RSB 2 meter (147.210) is IRLP/EchoLink not used much but is used
VE3RFI 443.250 in Hamilton is quite active during storms as it is used for Canwarn

You can also try VE3OAK 147.015
You may also be able to reach VE3TWR (CN tower repeater) 145.415

I'm experiencing deja vu with this thread:

http://forums.radioreference.com/ontario/210722-ham-repeaters-gta-gha.html

Try these:

VE3MIS 145.430 (Mississauga)
VE3PRC 146.880 (Brampton)
VE3YRA 145.350 (King City)
VE3NRS 147.240 (Thorold)

Generally there isn't a whole lot of activity on repeaters these days unless it's during morning and afternoon drive-time. Some repeaters have IRLP or Echostink and will come to life more often.

For CANWARN I listen to the "ULR" hub at 442.025. That may or may not be receivable from Burlington.

I was working on a list of all the VHF and UHF repeaters in the GTA (Niagara Region, Hamilton, Halton, Peel, Toronto, Durham & York)...and was hoping to map them out with their exact locations (or at least the best locations I was able to find). The eventual plan was to find out tech details such as antenna height, output power and antenna type - then make a map in Radio Mobile that shows the approximate coverage area of each one.

It's a shame repeater coordination bodies didn't require the same type of information as commercial repeater licenses be submitted and published. Eg, antenna height, antenna gain, antenna pattern, ERP power, lat/long, etc...

Thanks to all that provided info. I listened to CANWARN tonite as the storm pushed thru, heard some Hamilton and Burlington voices on 146.805 and a 440 frequency I forgot.
