Per the cut sheets I have, none of the HamCo Fire TGs (29F) are encrypted. Only the MED TGs (29M) have any indication of encryption capability, and of ALL the region, they are the ONLY ones to be so. Also note to all: IDPS no longer is used to contact IU West. All incoming units to IU West MUST use the SAFE-T TG 32M-IUW unless specifically told otherwise. Same with HRH, and the soon opening HRBG. Only other exception is units from OUTSIDE the region, which will use ISDH Hospital Transport TGs.

I have both the IPSC IFEMS, and Boone Co. FD/EMS cut sheets, and only on the IFEMS one which is the newest are 29M marked with encryption capabilities.

It appears HCPSC had a trespasser on IDPS S3 today. Someone came on the Carmel PD Dispatch TG today saying "This is Security Base, go ahead" three times, once the dispatcher said "This is Hamilton County Communications Carmel Police" the intruder said "base clear" - the dispatcher said the radio tag reported on the console was "4MALL-P1" - I wasn't looking at the display of my 436 to tell what RID was showing up. I'm certain lots of phone calls were made to IDPS radio help desk trying to figure out who programmed an apparent mall security radio for IDPS.

A majority of the malls in the area have access to the IDPS system through a base station at the security office (Castletown and Fashion Mall have been heard on MET-NO1).

Sounds like someone might have been trying to talk on the wrong base unit.
