I would love to add in or help with the HSR and its system and its RIDS.

I've lived In and around Hamilton for the better part of 15 years however, I have never been on a HSR bus.

I'm not a snob nor am I anti transit, it's just the opposite, I only need to use Burlington Transit and the GO when I don't drive.

My questions:

Do the HSR buses hard ID's or soft id's?

Toronto Police use hard IDs and the OPP use soft ids.

Do HSR buses even have numbers on the buses aside from the sign in front of the bus indicating what route they are on?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated and I will happily release to the website all the info I gather as I have too much time on my hands these days.
. TIA

Yes, they have ID's on the bus and for the most part, RID = Fleet ID.

It's a VERY, VERY boring system to listen to. Sometimes the level of disorganized stupidity makes it worth it, but that is incredibly rare.

You couldn't have said it any better, LMAO.

I recorded about two hours of activity on Saturday and my goodness this is better than Valium or Ludes.
I heard Dispatch call out a lady on one of the busier routes, she had fallen behind but she justified it because she needed a bathroom and cigarette break.

I'll set my scanner to record it during the busier parts of the days.
I'm sure after this project I will lock this one out as it will probably be as boring as Burlington Transit

On the topic of HSR saw this

Looks like a private call, and the UID's are tied to Bus or vehicle numbers with Bus 1606 being a 2016 Novabus LFS CNG.

And yea, from what EJB said, HSR can be quite silly, but boring sometimes to listen to. Back in the day I remember some really silly things before they moved to Digital DMR and their request to talk system through the rangers.

Did always giggle when they always refer to the end of a line/terminating bus stop as "Five Guys" because it is right next to a Five Guys.

Yes I noticed I-Calls on this system. I recorded about 300 conversations and of those I'd say 15 were I-Calls
