Hello all. I was listening to my scanner (as always) when I herd Hamilton FD had a call for alarm conditions at Dalewood School, sometime between 8-8:30 pm. Dispatch asked them to respond on TAC 6.

I have TAC 6 listed as "14416" as in the database. I never actually herd the unit respond, but I did hear them clear. Now when they called in to clear, the tg i herd them on was
"14448" listed as Haz-Mat. Is this an error in the database or just a fluke I herd the same unit clear on that tg 20 mins later?

If its an error on my part can anyone tell me what they would use the "Haz-Mat" channel for? Thanks

I've often heard training done on the HazMat channel (also known as TAC 7). In fact there is enough training activity that I lock that talkgroup out...if there's really something big going on and they're using TAC 7 for operations I'll hear all about it on the other talkgroups anyway.
