Today i was just doing the usual, relaxing on the back porch listening to the scanner, and i came across something that i found to be quite interesting.
I was listening to the Fire-EMS for Hancock county, but i also had a scanlist turned on which "Walkie Talkie" frequencies are programmed into. I heard the dispatch concerning a run that the FD was to go on, and just after they arrived on scene, "Channel 20" (Frequency 462.675) on my "walkie talkie" scanlist got hit. It was the Sugar Creek fire department talking to each other about the scene. (general chatter)
Now i find this interesting because had never known public safety to use a consumer grade "walkie talkie" for their communications.
So my question is: has anybody else noticed/confirmed this before??? (that the FD uses freq 462.675 for communications)
