Unfortunately, a police officer getting arrested in Indiana isn't really breaking news this year. I know most officers are law-abiding, but there are a few out there whose transgressions are garnering a lot of news coverage.

You aint kidding there. One local dept. in my area fired and charged 4 officers this year, (keep in mind this is a 8-10 officer dept.) including the Chief for theft, a Sgt. for chatting with and attempting to lure underage girls online, and 2 others for battery, one sexual. This all in this year alone. Needless to say they are re-evaluating their hiring procedures and the next officer they hired was a women :)
