Hardee Co. from Tampa - Monitoring.

Just wondering ; is anyone in the Tampa city area able to pick up the Hardee Co. sheriff freq of 151.010? I used to be able to pick them up from the south Tampa area but no more. Have they changed a tower location and/or frequencies? Any info appreciated, TT.

The RR database shows

the sheriff's freq is deprecated. The Polk county trunking is broadcasting Hardee's fire/rescue though.
I've not heard Hardee on the 151.01 in a while.

Hardee SO is on the Polk P25 system using encrypted talkgroups.

Ironic that Hardee has piggybacked on a system used by Sheriff Grady Judd, a sheriff that stands behind his deputies, but at the same time holds them accountable. He has nothing to hide in respect to routine operations and sees fit to only use encryption when it's needed. Hardee apparently has a need to encrypt everything - a policy that doesn't exactly build trust in a small rural agency.

Hardee County is now on a 800 MHz trunked system look on the FCC web site for the freq. Polk county Dispatches for Hardee county Fire dept. and the Sheriff is encrypted and P-25 on hardee's 800 system only polk counties TAC 8 & Tac 9 can be heard over Hardee's 800 system

Technically, Hardee is using site 6 (used to be site 6, not sure if it has been renumbered) of Polk's system 0396h. I'm not close enough to receive the cc to verify the site number - I'll check next time I pass through Hardee.

Yes, the freqs are licensed to Hardee, but they are "plugged in" to Polk's system. They were on Polk's system when it was still analog.

just to add to the comment about Hardee Fire/EMS currently being dispatched by Polk County... the Hardee County sheriff's office is supposed to start dispatching their own Fire/EMS sometime around october, its unknown if fire/ems will become encrypted also
