I've heard/read hardin county is going digital, but also that there are encryption codes that will be needed to listen to these. Are these available yet? Or any of the digital frequencies?

I also heard last year that Radcliff Police were in the upgrade phase to digital but have not went live yet from what little I know of it. I have not heard any news on Hardin County itself going digital, not even any talk of it.

If it is encrypted then I don't think you will be able to listen to it with any scanner currently available. Uniden and others might come up with a way to crack the encryption when the majority of systems are encrypted, depending on the key length. Key lengths of 128 bits or more will be almost impossible to crack. Then all they have to do is distribute new keys and you are back to square one.

Yep, Radcliff is in the process of going digital with the only thing missing is less then 10 mobile radios installed in their vehicles.

I would say early 2010 they'll be switched over.
