The Board of Estimates on Dec. 19 also approved an $11.1 million contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. of Schaumburg, Ill., to integrate all components of the Department of Emergency Services' P-25 Wireless Radio Integration Project.

The contract involves installing 14 dispatch consoles in the new emergency services building and the Department of Public Works highways facility. The existing radio network would be merged among 15 radio channels – nine channels on the 800 megahertz band and six on the 700 MHz band, the latter a regional emergency broadcast system.

Is the 700mhz talk related to the MD FiRST System?

Chances are it's either that or CMARC, which more closely matches the phrase 'regional emergency broadcast system'

I noticed today that CMARC applied for additional sites for each of the existing CMARC licences. Harford County's (6 towers under WQNH702) appear to be approved under WQTB744 (adds 4 tower locations). Interesting that Harford got a separate license for this update.... Harford now has 10 tower sites for CMARC (the other 5 jurisdictions only have 9 tower sites combined!).....

I was under the impression that once MD FiRST was built out, CMARC would be absorbed into FiRST....

Upon closer check - it looks like the 2 Anne Arundel and Balitmore sites (Millersville and Red Run/Owiings Mills) and the Howard/Carroll tower site (Savage) were already added for the existing Anne Arundel/Baltimore and Howard/Carroll licenses.
