If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Evening folks, just a quick one for ya. I recently received a XG-100M with a CH100 control head. My question is this, can I change the emergency button to a selectable button like on the XG-100P? Is there a DLL file to change in RPM so that I can do that or is it just not a thing.

I never had a CH-100 to play with, but in RPM in your head options you usually can program emergency buttons for different things.
Now RPM 2 will not work with any color heads, but if you bought that, it comes bundled with RPM 14 and that will work with any of the OMAP or Unity radios.
The E button is unassigned in my XG-100Ms and XG-100Ps
I think the CH-100 has all the same icons as the 100Ps so like an alternate scan button or monitor is an option.

The emergency button is not reprogrammable on Unity. RPM2 works fine on the Unity mobile with CH-100.

I have seen where a dll was modified in RPM* to allow reassignment but I do not have any information about how. It will be unique to each release also.
