Has anyone been able to monitor the Busch Gardens system?

I live in Tampa about 6 miles from B.G.'s and so far have been unable to pick up their system from here. I uploaded the frequencies from the R.R. database using Freescan and am using a BCD396XT. Can anybody else hear them and if so what could I be doing wrong?

Are you getting the control channel if you manually step through?

Just noticed that, no, I'm not picking it up. Well, there we have it, I guess, lol.

I seem to recall some use of FRS/GMRS/MURS while in the water park by lifeguards, in addition to the BG system. And by one or two guests coordinating activities.

But you were able to pick up the BG system? Was that using the frequencies supplied by RR and how long ago was that, or do you have a different set of freq's?

RR download. less than a month ago on a sunday. First aid, lost kids, elevator problems in the dry park, animal feeding. Tough to remember with all the kids noise and throwing up and work calls. Probably be there next weekend, so I'll check it again.

Thanks, I live in south Tampa so I figured I was close enough to pick them up, but perhaps they have a low power system? Can you pick it up from where you live, and if so how many miles would you say that is?

Yep, pretty much what I remembered. Scratchy at 2.5 to 3 miles (275 and busch), okay at 1.5 miles on Busch Blvd and works fine inside the park. Lots of GMRS/FRS, too. FCC license shows three additional frequencies -- 939.3875, 939.4000, and 939.4125. The CC was 939.9125. Security was going after a "signal 50" with TPD apparently backing up, a broken boat on a boat ride, a nail sticking out in Tut's Tomb, and a "code 1 fish under the fish feeder" -- maybe Anheuser Busch if feeding the fish more than just fish food. Watch out for that Montu ride, it can really shake ya' up and make ya' dizzy.
