• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

According to the specs it appears to be compatible with the requirements of the GPS for the Uniden scanners. It is less than 1.25 inches on the widest side. I envision enclosing it in a small plastic box with a self contained battery supply and cutting off the end of the Uniden serial cable and wiring it directly to this GPS module. It outputs the required NMEA-0183 Output Messages such as GGA and RMC. Might be nice for portable use. I'm really disappointed Uniden did not include an internal GPS option for the new BCD436HP. Many portable Ham radios have that option.

I agree. That would have made for a much neater installation.

If you do some looking around on Ebay there were some modules inside a plastic case with a magnet mount the size of a GPS antenna and it had a cable with a 6 pin mini DIN plug on it.
