I heard a car go 10-75 with a vehicle clear as could be. I thought what is going on?! At first, I thought a cop had accidentally hit the clear button keeping it off ProVoice. As I listened further, I kept hearing the same stuff over and over, mock chases etc. An intructor said something about "Scenario 1, 2," etc. So, it had to be rooky training in radio procedure during chases, etc. The streets they'd give were mostly fictional.

It wasn't the real thing but it was nice to hear them again, even if it was just training procedure. The audio was second to none!

I heard it also...almost dropped my beer when I first heard it.
Then after listening for 10 mins or more found it was training.
Either way, like you said, pretty cool listening.
I was kind of surprised they would be doing training at that time of night on the Saturday of Easter.

Mornin', Sudsy! Yep, that was a kick. I didn't have a beer or anything in my hands, but I dang near dropped my teeth! :) It hasn't happened since, but it was pretty cool while it lasted. Chief Martin ("Uncle Mel") is retiring. I wish the new chief would let 'em go clear mode. That would be a dream come true.

See ya' later-

Sorry, I looked at the Abilene EDACS system, and it shows there are analog talkgroups on there. I was wondering why a talkgroup usually carrying digital voice, transmitting in analog for some period would sound any different from an actual analog talkgroup on the same system. I only ask because I listen to a ProVoice system, and many times analog transmissions come across digital talkgroups, and they don't sound any different from the set analog groups. I've heard ProVoice transmissions too(not with the scanner, obviously) and they do sound really good(maybe even second to none, although there's only 2 types of digital I've heard). I'm going to have to wait until I have a P25 radio to see which sounds better.
