Height requirements for MLA30 loop antenna

Does height matter when Im using my shortwave MLA 30 loop antenna ? I have it outside 6 feet in the air. Its hooked up using a Tecsun PL-680 radio . Any suggestions would be great. Thanks !!

Many such loops are better off closer to the ground, as you have it. I have read that the diameter of the loop is about what you should have it off the ground; others say no more than 8-10 foot. Too high, and the loop tends to favor skywave propagation more.

This is a point where experimentation will show you what you need. Mike
