Hello All,
I have a BCD396T digital handheld scanner that I am trying to use to monitor Oakland PD. I dont live in this area and only visit about once a week so that is the only time I can test the scanner out. Im not new to the scanner world and I know how to program the scanner by hand and have done so with most of the stations I monitor.
I have enterted in the following control channels:852.28750c, 853.33750c, 853.46250c, 853.70000c, and 854.18750c
I used the following talkgroups and set to scan:
31553 7b41 D OPD Patrol 1 Patrol 1 - West Dispatch Law Dispatch
31554 7b42 D OPD Patrol 2 Patrol 2 - Central Dispatch Law Dispatch
31555 7b43 D OPD Patrol 3 Patrol 3 - East Dispatch Law Dispatch
31556 7b44 D OPD Patrol 4 Patrol 4 - Car-to-Car Law Tac

The problem I am having is the scanner will stop on a channel for a split second and then it will keep scanning as if there is no activity on the scanner. I am getting a great signal on the control channels can see the bars on the scanner at almost full but it wont actually pull any of the transmissions.
I am wondering if the issue is with the scanner not being able to monitor Oakland. I recently just purchased the BCD536HP but have not brought it down to Oakland with me yet. I wanted to see if this scanner would pick up Oakland so I could see if it was a scanner issue or not.
I thought I had made a mistake with the CC channels but I went back in and everything appears to be fine. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
