• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

The obvious question is if you're really associated with a FD/EMS, why can't the agency's radio shop fix the issue, or why can't you at least borrow someone else's radio & 'read' its code-plug?

I can search around but for future reference make sure you backup your codeplugs incase you decide to change something then you mess up.

Here is a place you can check if this will help you

http://www.codeplugsupersite.com/cp_site/index.php?&direction=0&order=&directory=HT Series/HT1250

sorry if i can be specific but that may be the best place to start.

ok but here is the thing i was not able to read it in the begiun it was sent to me this way i to read and save all my code plugs first thank you very very very much

this is the message i get when i read the radio ....."image is corrupted, checksum r/w region failed"

Mmmm I never dealt with HT1250's that would do that, if you can get it fixed, you may try and look in batlabs or take it to a radio technician and have him look it over or if a friend at the station has the exact model, see if you can read his and clone it into yours if you have that option, maybe that could fix something...

just make some backups if you get it working :D and once its working :D no more tinkering!

Is it an issued or personal & purchased? its always good to have a "I own it now leave it alone" radio haha... that way if you move to a different base or division you take it wherever you go.

So best advice :) read a friends radio, test that out and then make backups if it works and if i mean backups, i mean back ups so you have enough in case you forget where they are.

:) atleast you know now but that site i gave you, one of them may work for you but the radio might reject it because of the serial number..
