• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

If little Johnnie or Jane shoots up a school and it is found that the parents knew or should have known the child was disturbed and/or it is found that the child used firearms obtained from the parents then the parents should be held just as legally liable as the minor and all the parents assets should be confiscated by the government to help offset the costs (victims medical and/or burial costs) involved in the shooting and in the case of an adult in addition to criminal penalties imposed all assets and monies should be confiscated by the government to help offset costs to the victims.here is a thought on gun violence

you can bet if there is forfeiture and criminal penalties imposed on the parents then maybe they will get better control of their kid(s)!!!

That's a reactive solution, not a proactive solution. So, in the end, the kids are still dead, but the state is a little bit richer.

I'm all in favor of holding parents of minor children responsible for what their kids do, but this wouldn't actually change any outcomes.

While I am not a lawyer, I believe that there are already criminal conspiracy and criminal accessory laws that cover much of what you propose.

From the standpoint of prevention, as a parent of a rebellious teenager, I had far less control of my child than I wanted to have.

Oh? And who here has adopted illegal immigrants?
That's easy. The people YOU keep electing. I mean, just look at your home state of Kali. Illegals were issued drivers licenses for heavens sake.

There is no need to be dumbfounded like it never happens.

The people I elected? How do you know whether or not the people I voted for won? You know of at least one that didn't. Do I then get blamed for the actions of those that did?

There is no need to be dumbfounded like it never happens.
No, the accusation is that someone here has adopted illegal immigrants. Your reply is a useless waste of bandwidth.

You're guilty by association, that's how I know. That's how you roll, that's how I roll, the proof is right here in your posts.

If you can assume, why can't I?

That wasn't meant literally I'm sure. The fact that you can't understand that is concerning.

I see.

So, that's one of those assumptions you were talking about. Maybe we can let CQ answer the question, since he said it. You continue to be a complete waste of time.

Sure, let CQ clarify.

If I am right, then you're the waste of time and bandwidth, not me.

Don't put people down because you are so damned gullible, it's not our fault.

I've not heard of that until now. Its either regarded as non news or the left wing nut news outlets will outright hide things like this to promote their anti gun agenda.

There is a staggering amount of lives saved and crimes stopped every day because someone had a gun to confront the bad guy and in the vast majority of these instances a shot is never fired by the good guy. Just the presence of a gun by a good guy will turn the situation around. Its a sad but true way of life here.

Did anyone hear of this anywhere from the mainstream media? Good thing I regularly listen to talk AM radio. Tom Sullivan opened with this today. Why isn't this being reported? Because it doen't fit a certain narrative?

Exactly. The article even says the little coward turned and ran when he saw that Resource Officer had a gun!

In my opinion a school shooter or other person wanting to hurt as many people as possible is different than your day to day thief or criminal. Most thief's don't want any kind of confrontation and probably don't want to hurt anyone.
