I'm looking for a way to record individual audio files with the frequency, time and date stamp. It would need to filter out the white noise so only audio is recorded.
I'd like to monitor Shanwick and Gander aeronautical freqs, using multiple virtual audio cables.

Is it possible using SDR#, SDRUno or SDR Console?

I'm using an SDRplay RSP1A

Thanks

I use Gold Wave to record HF as it will easily squelch the white noise and only record the audio, and will record the time, but I don't know of anything that will automatically insert the frequency. If you want to try it, I can send you the recording properties.

Hi Randy - do you have to manually adjust the audio levels for it to record? I ask as I have previously used Recall-Pro and also Scanrec. It's tricky to adjust the levels and each frequency needs different levels (and changes throughout the day).

Ideally I need a recorder that can block out the white noise and only record audio (in individual files rather than one long file with lots silence)

I've previously been told about rrnoise but haven't tried it myself - it's supposed to have good voice activity detection and noise suppression.
If only something like this could be embedded into the SDR software!

SDR# can record audio and save it to a file. Not sure about the white noise elimination though. SDR# does have squelch too.

I did mention Scanrec above - it's a pain to manually adjust the audio levels for recording.

Seems like there's no software out there that automatically removes the HF white noise allowing you to just record audio - never mind more than one HF frequency!

Any budding developers out there want to try something??

This may be old school but what about a personal digital recorder with VOX capability? I have a tiny Sony digital recorder with a mic input that can be attached to a scanner or other device and records when voice activated. Got it at Walmart for about 34 bucks. You can play back anything recorded regardless of where you are. e.g., in the car or home.

Which reminds me, there used to be a company that sold a cassette recorder especially for scanner enthusiasts that could record up to twelve hours. It was advertised in old Monitoring Times and Pop Comm magazines.
