From 0430 - 1768 East Jules Court. LFR E17 on scene of a two story single family with heavy fire showing and threatening another home. Defenisve operations initially which transitioned into an interior attack.

A Second Alarm was called for at 0500, after about 20 minutes only one engine from the second alarm was held. The exposure home had only minor exterior damage.

Fire damages Highlands Ranch home

A Highlands Ranch blaze that may have been started by a space heater destroyed a garage and damaged a home early this morning, officials say.

Two adults and two children who live in the home on the 1700 block of Jules Court escaped without injury after the father heard noises coming out of the garage at 4:33 a.m., said Division Chief Doug Ireland of Littleton Fire Rescue.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the garage and extinguished it by 5:32 a.m., Ireland said. Heat and smoke from the fire damaged the home as well, he said.

The cause of the fire is considered accidental, and preliminary indications are that a space heater ignited the blaze, Ireland said. An investigator will make the final determination, he said.
