I just watched a youtube video showing the Test Mode of Uniden HomePatrol-1. It fails to mention how to get in the mode, and my looking around does not find access to this mode. I obviously am overlooking something that is probably right in front of me. But if anyone could point me to where the Test Mode is I would appreciate it. Thank you,

From RR (Enter to Test mode): "When powering up hold down both the power and volume up button. When the splash screen appears hold down the volume down button only."

I messed up and sent some command that ended up wiping my Extreme Upgrade key.
Luckily the serial number and checksum is hard coded so I was able to reenter my extreme upgrade key as it was listed at the my.uniden.com site

Has anyone tried this scenario? I have been trying it for the past 15 minutes or so with lots of variations with no success. I am running the advanced mode and wondering if this alters things?

Just tried my HP1, test mode works fine. This was my post linked in post #2:

Follow the steps carefully... and be careful what you are doing in the test mode !

(1) Turn your scanner completely off. Be sure you are using a fully charged set of batteries.

(2) To power up the scanner in the test mode, hold down both the volume up (+) button and the power on button simultaneously until you just see the boot up splash screen. Immediately release those 2 buttons and quickly press and hold down the volume down (-) button until you see the "Test Mode" screen, then release the volume down button.

(3) To exit the test mode, just shut down the scanner as you normally would.

When you say SPLASH SCREEN, I assume you are referring to the "Uniden Home Patrol" screen that first pops up and not the screen with the user definable Owner Information screen that follows that screen? Also, do you have the Advanced option installed?

There is a youtube video by a "John Doe" but he does not show how to enter that mode.

As an aside, I just called Uniden support as was told no such mode exists.

I just am going to refer to this as we did in the USAF....a "short between the headsets". For some reason (impending dementia?) I did the first step but was hitting VOUME UP!!! Geez....I'm very sorry to have wasted your time and thank you for trying to help this idiot. (me)

No problem... as you now see, that was an incorrect answer you received from Uniden phone support. That may be their only response allowed for that question so that consumers don't mess with things that could cause problems requiring service.

Again with the questions....
I am getting an error on the first test SCAN TEST: ERR:0 T8 1.41 1.65 1.89 You think Uniden, who doesn't think this feature exists would know of a error listing? Me neither Thanks

My various HP's have always displayed an error on that test, it may require additional input for that test such as a signal generator etc.
Uniden would probably say to send it in.

CSRs most likely do not know about test modes that are not intended for users.
