I have a home patrol 2 I got a couple of months ago and it seems to work well. However it shows firmware at 1.06 not 2.03.02 or whatever the latest update is. I have sentenial on my computer and did firmware update and did the extream update. How can I get my hp2 to update to current firmware? Thx.

The version "2.03.02" is for the current version of Sentinel for the HP-1 & HP-2. That has nothing to do with a firmware version.

There has been no update for the HP-2. That's because there have been no issues with how it is supposed to perform, and what it is capable of receiving. While the HP-2 is a useful scanner (I have one as well), it cannot do some of the things that the later models of database scanners can do. The x36HP & SDS series scanners can get the paid upgrade for DMR, NXDN, and ProVoice. The HP-2 cannot, because it does not have the internal components that can handle those modes.

You can add the Extreme Upgrade, if it's features interest you. But that is done by purchasing the upgrade key at MyUniden, then entering the provided key into your scanner. Look at the description of what it does (and does not) do, and see if it is something you want. The most noticeable change is that the Extreme Upgrade allows you to create & edit systems & their details through the scanner's keypad. Without the upgrade, you can still create & edit systems, but it must be done on your PC in Sentinel, then send the revised Favorites list to the scanner.
