Home Patrol/Duluth

I just picked up the Home Patrol. In scanning everything the last half hour, I'm not hearing anything from Duluth PD & Sheriff (155.595 & 155.415) I have not played with much yet, but it's frustrating. Somebody please at least tell me the basics. Is there a certain control channel I have to enter? I live right in town Duluth. Give me a call if you want. 218.310.9394 Thanks, Mike

You will not hear them on 155.595 and 155.415 anymore as St. Louis county has switched to the new ARMER system. I am not sure how you program the HomePatrol but I use RadioReference to program my BCD996XT and BCD396XT. I do hear them on the new ARMER system. Everything is in the 800 Mhz band now. You should listen to the Duluth Simulcast tower. The control channel is 856.46250 Mhz. Hope this helps.

Make sure that you have downlaoded the latest database AND run the Home Patrol HP-1 in the ID Search mode so that you get the new talkgroups as they pop up. Saint Louis County is a new enough user that not all of the talkgroups have been identified yet.

This should get you going if you just want the basics like you used to hear on the old 155.595 and 155.415.

This list is not everything but you will have everything you had on the 2 channels you mentioned on your old scanner

I also live in Duluth

I'm having the same problem, called RadioShack and they said it should work. I think I'm gonna try adding nearby communities like Lake, Hermantown, etc. and see if it comes up then. Otherwise, I don't have a clue. It's really frustrating, especially how expensive the scanner is!
