Hometown scanner issue

Hello, my first post here.

Forgive my unfamiliarity on this, I was hoping someone can resolve an issue I'm having difficulty even describing and Google is of no hope...

I enjoy listening to my hometown scanner broadcast, and I used to listen through a Logitech squeezebox, but that's all ending...

I am having issues listening to its broadcast via phone, in fact
2 phones are perfect, and 2 are garbled,
Most importantly the phone I need to use it through is, like they're underwater...
Every other steam I tried works fine.

Can anyone explain this so I can put this to rest, it's been an issue forever and no search helps....

Can anybody else concur?

The signal should be the same, as there are no adjustments for streamed feeds. That said, it could be due to a difference in the phone speakers, or in how it receives the signal over WiFi/cellular internet, either way it is definitely the receiving device since the feed out is the same no matter where it is being monitored.

Thank you for your reply.

It makes sense it's a phone issue. To further the confusion, I tried using a different router, same results with the same phones. As for phones, as an example,
Asus ZenFone 4 Pro, works clearly on both the link shared or directly with VLC player,
Asus ZenFone 8, comes through unclear both link or direct through VLC.

IPhone 12 Mini works, Orbic Maui nope.

None of the phones above changed switching between 2.4 to 5 GHz, same outcome either way.

I haven't tried using computers yet.
Its working ok for you?
It's frustrating.

A quick follow up,

Just tried using two computers, Win 7 and Win 10, both worked fine...

Just tried using the Beta Test player below, same previous stated results, no change with same phones.

To further illustrate the issue, deepen the enigma, and prove that I am not above self-torture to arrive at an answer…

Using my least capable phone (Orbic Maui) through 2.4Ghz only (no cell connection),

I navigated to the Broadcastify home, clicked on “Near Me” and tried every listed broadcast on the list, all of which that are online sounded clear…

… except Lodi Public Safety which is garbled as I described earlier.

Possibly phone related, but also stream related it would seem.

Thanks
S.H.

So all the other feeds sound clear on that phone except one feed, and that one feed is garbled?

OK, another entry…

Using my most capable phone (ASUS Zenphone 8) and through a 5 GHz WiFi connection I repeated the same test on the same list from “Near Me”. Again all online streams arrived clear except Lodi Public Safety as previously encountered and mentioned.

Also for your consideration, I stepped away from my house and enough distance from my router to lose any signal and used a local Xfinity hotspot I occasionally use from a nearby residence. I tried 5 mostly random selections from the same list, all were clear. Tried Lodi Public Safety there, not clear.

Fair question, however I only currently have one activated smartphone and that’s the IPhone 12 Mini which I haven’t had any issues with LPS, cell or WiFi.

Turned of WiFi, tried 5 random and LPS, all worked, tried Beta version, worked as well. Switched WiFi back on works as usual.

The other one that seems to work well is the ASUS Zenphone 4 Pro, I can try the list on that as well later.

It is now inaudible, and for the last couple days, any phone tried.

Local Fire works ok still, but PD is down.
