Got back from vacation yesterday (for a week) and quickly noticed that Hopewell's PD unit numbers have changed (maybe on July 1, I don't know.) Before you had a wide range of numbers from the high 100s to I think 480. For the most part you could tell how long someone had been with the department based on their unit number (guessing they were going by badge number also.) The highest I've heard so far with the new ones is 50. I am guessing they might be going by car number or just by numbers based on rank/seniority. I will have to listen more and probably talk to someone I know on the department to figure it out for sure.
Edit: Well actually its a little more confusing now. One of the LEOs that I know was unit 253 (been there over 20 years) and now I just reconized his voice and he used unit 53. So it might be that they just took the front number off of what they call. Only thing I am wondering with that now is that they did have about 5 units that the last 2 numbers were the same (i.e. 250, 450 & 280, 480.)
