• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have some ADP and AES TGs I will need to monitor. I have the keys and am authorized to program them but I can't seem to find any info on how it's done.

EDIT, now I see on their FAQ it's a specific software that's needed. I hope it's not expensive.

Curious what version they send you. It's free. I think latest is Encryption Key Utility v1.0.1Beta2 from 8/5/2020?
Could have sworn it used to be on their website, but maybe my memory feeble.

I believe the Encryption Utility software is available from dealers at no cost. Contact any of them (@w2lie, Ray's Pager Sales, etc) and I'm sure they'd be happy to assist.

There's a whole guide on using it here, hopefully it's current and relevant to your use. https://www.rayspagersales.com/wp-c...ion-Key-Utility-User-Guide_V0.03_20200805.pdf

It is free, but you do have to contact Unication or the dealer to get it. I'm currently using v1.0.1 Beta02 and it works just fine.

Surprised me not a little to discover that it's FIPS-compliant like a proper keyloader (you have to put in Admin and User passwords before it will let you save your keyfile, and you have to enter one or the other to open a keyfile), and it even has proper password requirements, 16-32 alphanumeric characters and some symbols.

I'm wondering how do you make the actual key? I want to program in some p25 conv channels that use ADP and the key is given for anyone to use. How can I make this work? I'm new to unication - just bought my g5 2 weeks ago

Just make up a key... 10 alphanumeric characters. Then enter that key using the keyloader utility, and into whatever radios you are using.

It has a built in key generator. Just push a button and it makes one. I think you need a test or default key store file though to get started. I didn't see a way to get it to start from scratch.

The link in message #2 has the how-to manual, but basically you must have the key parameters, and use the key utility to create the keys for the pager.

I ended up seeing my rar file had a .ekf file that I needed to load. That part confused me.
Thank you both for the quick reply
