Hey all, just curious how you have the CLMRN set up in your scanners. I'm re-programming my mobile (996P2) and just trying to figure out a good way to set the talk groups I want to the sites. Looking for ideas. Thanks in advance.

This may sound stupid, but I have the CTSP troops set up with quick keys based on the letter of the alphabet. i.e. Troop A is QK 01, Troop D is QK 04, etc. Towns /Regionals are 20s, and grouped by county. Colleges in the 30s. Stuff that doesn't fit that category and isn't a "transportation" group, is in the 40's, and Statewide stuff is in the 50's. (On my 536HP).

I set up the groups to match the Districts - East, Central and West.

See this map

So Troop A is in Western, H is Central and C is Eastern - along with the other troops in the District in QK's 1,2 and 3

GQK 4 is a groups of "Other" groups - non troop-specific.

GQK 5 is DMV

GQK 6 is DEEP

I only add sites I can receive with the System Quick Key (6).

That should get you started. Good luck!

I broke out each agency I was interested in and created a new FL. But I don’t have too many. State police consists of only Troop H & BDL, New Britain Fire, Bloomfield Police (but only as a test), DOT, DEEP, Hartford City Fire Dispatch, and the Interoperability TG’s. I duplicate the Interoperability where possible with their patches on other trunked systems or conventional analogue systems in another FL. It means I’m scanning the same twice but sometimes CLMRN only broadcasts on certain sites and the previous VHF & UHF repeaters do better with coverage than the higher 800 MHz frequencies, especially when monitoring from home with the advantage of an outside antenna at 40 ft.

I like the way others have set their radios up also and intend trying them. My method is probably slowing up my scan rate. I expect to correct the slower scan rate by using another scanner to do all except CLMRN, and another for local FD and PD where an outside antenna isn’t necessary.

I monitor using a G4 so my scan lists are fairly site specific also limited to 64 TG per knob position. But do have a “system” set up with all sits and a little bit of everything mainly statewides and CSP that I can listen to all across the state and the unit automatically switches sites as one gets closer and another farther away.

My Unication G5 is set up a few ways. Much of it overlaps, but it makes sense to how I use it.

This is how the knob positions are set up … sort of …

- Troop E
- Troop F
- Middlesex
- New London Law
- Troop E - F - K
- Troop E - K - C - D
- Wtfd / NL FD/Law
- Wtfd / NL Fire

- Troop G
- DEMHS R2
- DEMHS R4
- DEMHS R3
- DEMHS R1
- Fire Coordinators

- RISCON South
- RISCON North
- RISCON State

Within days the CSP Troops I also have the appropriate DEEP TGs, specific TAC TGs, I/O TGs, County Fire Coordinators, FEMA, and other specific TGs that match what i want to hear. The Unications limits you to 64 TGs per knob position, but I tend to keep it under 20 so it is manageable, single Troopsknob positions, tend to be 12-to-16 TGs. Multi-Troop or DEMHS Region positions obviously have more TGs in there.

I went in a similar route, but broke it into DEMHS Regions.

Been a bit busy with work like activities, so just getting to this now.

I can send you the ProScan file or the ARC536 file. Or both. PM me and I'll send it along.

Is there any chance you could share that file Gary?

Is that TG for QV 33.90 (8753) active? Wondering if it’s worth adding to my G4 I hear 460 and 453 but have never heard 33.90 patched before

8751 is now designated QV 450 and 8752 is designated QV 460. 8753, to the best of knowledge, exists but is dormant.
Both TG 8751 and TG 8752 are active talk groups.

I need to rename the QV channels in my G5

Thanks all, I appreciate the answers. Got a little tied up with work. And no I wasn't on for the fire in Rainmaker garage. I was on the call back and covered the firehouse. :D

Hey all,
I am not familiar with all the Ins and outs,
so perhaps a layman's explanation to the following question please.
Bridgeport, CT Fire dispatch used to be available on Broadcastify.com
However lat 6 months or so it is not available.
Emailed the FD but got no response.
Any known reasons why?

(Sorry, we can all speculate, but just looking to know for sure, if available)

Thanks in Advance
