Within a couple months I'm moving to a rural area and will probably be using satellite internet. I will have up/download restrictions. I was curious, at the lowest quality setting, how many MB's would a feed upload in one months time? I'm guessing well over 1 gig, but was curious what the numbers would be.

Yeah, it's about 5gb per month. As a new audio feed provider I've been watching the data amount that scannercast is sending out. With my single audio stream it's averaging around 2,030 B/sec. 2,030 * 60 = 121,800 per minute, = 7,308,000 per hour = 175,392,000 per day, and 5,261,760,000 per month. So just a bit under 5.3 GB per month.

At the RR standard bit & sample rate for a mono feed:
Bit Rate: 16kbs CBR for a mono (one) radio feed
DO NOT select VBR (Variable Bit Rate) or Joint Stereo.
Sample Rate
: 22050 hz (22.050Khz)
As Kendirk indicated will use about 5gb a month.

About double that for a stereo feed at:
Bit Rate: 32kbs CBR for a stereo (two) radio feed

Feeds at lower settings mean your feed will not sound as good as it can.
Feeds at higher settings cost us more to host the feed.

Note: Satellite internet is not reliable for a continuous feed no matter the bit & sample rates. They may not even like or allow it.
