All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Happy new year, everyone!

Question: how do I remove or delete a zone in CPS 2? I use an xpr7550e radio with the latest version of CPS (latest as of two weeks ago).

I’ve created a great codeplug with lots of zones and channels. I want to remove a few zones but I can’t for the life of me figure out how. When I right click on a zone, there’s only copy & paste options. When I click on a zone I can see the channels on the right, and I can edit & remove those no problem. But now I have a few zones that are empty (I’ve deleted the channels within those zones), but how do I remove the zone itself?

Thank you,
Mark

Go to zone/channel assignment.
Go to zone - this should list all zones you have created.
Select the one you want to delete and click the ( - ) symbol at the top.

Confirmed! Thank you @Tech21. Greatly appreciated!

Follow up question: The Moto XPR series (I have a 7550e) have a limit of 1000 contacts. Is there any way to get a count? I ran into an issue where I used them all up, and tried to import a few channels from a different code plug and it failed--I found out after lots of experimentation that I had simply run out of channel space and after deleting a few, it worked. Any way to get a total channel/contact count? Thanks!

That was never my intention. I have over 900 channels for the various services I work with
