Hi,

I have an RTL-SDR and would like to be able to monitor traffic on my local SystemFusion repeater.

I have used SDRSharp on Windows and SDRTrunk on Linux with success. I found a SystemFusion demodulator for GnuRadio. I got GnuRadio compiled and installed, but couldn't get that solution working.

Is there another way to demod/decode SystemFusion? I'd like to see the control data as well as hear the audio.

Thanks,
John

Not easily. Other threads mention using DSD+, but I have no experience with this. I have four Yaesu Fusion radios so it isn't an issue for me. Looked at the GNU page and they have some caveats. It is a proprietary mode and Yaesu can change and has changed the specs from time to time requiring firmware updates. Also, there are wide and narrow modes. The wide mode uses the full 12.5 Khz bandwidth with no data while the narrow mode, which most people use, has two 6.25 Khz channels one for voice and one for data (mostly GPS).

It's not too hard with sdr# and dsdplus. You pipe the audio from Sdr# to dsdplus and away you go decoding fusion. I've done it. Important note, on sdr# uncheck the "filter audio" selector if you want to decode digital audio modes.

Hi,

I downloaded DSDPlus 1.101 released and it's not working to decode Yaesu SystemFusion. Do I need to pay for the FastLane version?

Thanks,
John

Sure, cuz ya aint gettin it fer free. And it's worth it. $25 for lifetime subscription. I think there is a $10 subscription as well -- for perhaps a one-year subscription, not sure.
