I am just boggled by the amount of stuff there is about scanner info. First things first. I paid for a premium membership today fo I could download some frequencies and it doesn't look like to me there is any web software for my desktop Mac. Someone kindly inform me of what I can use that doesn't require loading a complete windows system into my Mac

Thank you,
Bob

As Paul noted, no Mac/iOS software is available. Either use one of the programs that will allow you to run Windows on your Mac, or look for a cheap desktop or laptop. The programming software packages do not require the most recent hardware or Windows software, and would rum on an old Windows XP or Windows 7 machine. A Chrome book would not work. It needs to be a Windows machine, and you would also need internet access for updates and programming downloads.

Chirp has a Mac version for many ham radios, but not scanners. My suggestion is to run a virtual machine on your Mac. I use VMWare, but others use BootCamp. You need to purchase Windows as well to install on the virtual machine. Not the cheapest solution, but it will work very well. I'm also running Yaesu Wires-X on a virtual machine to give me Fusion capability with an FT-2 when I travel.
