All of the frequencies in the RR database that your scanner can monitor are already in Sentinel. Just be sure you update the database using the Sentinel menu, then write from Sentinel to the scanner. You can also create your own favorites lists in Sentinel from the database with only what you want to listen to.

You don't *need* different software; as fxdscon states Sentinal has a copy of the whole database as of the last RR extract (which I believe is on Saturday or Sunday each week). But many people find that they prefer to use ARC536 or ProScan to set up their favorite lists and just use Sentinal for firmware upgrades. Both programs will import directly from RR as long as you are a premium subscriber.

For most folks the fact that Sentinal only gets a weekly snapshot of the database is no big deal, but if you happen to be in an area where a new system is being built out and there are lots of ongoing changes the ability to pull directly from RR may be an advantage.

My suggestion would be to download ARC536 and ProScan and give them a try since they both have 30-day evaluation periods. Then pick the program you prefer, whether it be Sentinal or one of the others.
