I bet I'm not the only one that discovered something like that after the roofers finished putting a new roof on a building. Usually there are wire nuts involved.

My neighbor's TV and net went out after a rain. We found what was in the video, about 30" from the house, but no tape or wire nuts.

Just landscapers.

I discovered something similar when my work truck went in for rebranding and they removed the cap.

It's on the Interwebs, so it must be the right way to do it! o_O I once spliced two pieces of coax together, but only the center conductor, IIRC. In my defense, I was a kid at the time and used it as a random wire antenna tacked along the baseboard for my Realistic SW-60. It did work better than the built-in whip. ;)
