How to program a p25 ICALLS "Private call"

I have the BCD396XT for a couple of months now. I have read how to program ICALLS "private calls" but do not understand how to do it. In the talk group do I type the command like this i0 or only 0 for a p25 system and other system. Will it be scan at the same time I'm scanning systems and frequencies.

Yes. i0 (iZero)

I program it as the first TG in each group, keep it locked out, then I can hold and select it quickly when I hear someone request a "private call". (We get too much chit-chat to scan it all the time).It's funny they actually think it is private and no one can hear them. I hear some pretty interesting stuff sometimes.

I have done this for Motorola Type 2 trunked systems. I have not tried it for P25 yet but I have seen I calls on P25 while in search mode so it should work the same.

There is a pretty handy, albeit lengthy, complete reference manual for the 396XT.

I've downloaded it and saved it to a folder on my computer with other scanner manuals. I can open it with Adobe Reader and do a "Find" for topics I am interested in.
